Technical College Silkeborg (Teknisk Skole Silkeborg) is a modern centre of knowledge for technical training, upper secondary technical training, and continuing vocational training.
Technical College Silkeborg is a medium-sized college with a staff of about 220 employees and approximately 1400 students. The college is governed by a board, and the college's executive group handles day-to-day operations.
As a foreign student at Technical College Silkeborg , you can study the following courses - provided that you meet certain requirements:
- Mechanic, Panel Beater, Metal Worker, Automation Technician, Data Technician, Electronics Technician, Electrician
- Carpenter, Bricklayer
- Sign Maker, Building Painter and Decorator, Car Painter
- Chef, Caterer, Nutrition Assistant, Open Sandwich Caterer, Retail Butcher, Waiter/Waitress
- Continuing Vocational Training Programmes
- Technical Upper Secondary Examination Programmes
Technical College Silkeborg is organized into the following five branch colleges:
- Automobile and Industrial College and
Automotive Training Centre - Building and Construction College
- Painting and Decorating College
- Hotel and Restaurant College
- Continuing Education and Training Centre
- and the Technical Upper Secondary School.
Enrolment of foreign students in one of the vocational programmes at the college is conditional on the ability to read, write and understand Danish.

Ever since its foundation in 1863, Technical College Silkeborg has adapted itself to the training requirements of a changing world. Today, the college is making an active effort in creating an international profile, especially encouraged by the participation in international networks.
The college has started a process of reorganisation, focusing on future educational needs, study and training environment, college culture, consultancy and evaluation. This includes, among other things, the introduction of individual educational plans and learning situations that emphasize the strengths of the individual student.
